Biography

Born and Raised in Toronto, Mustafa has always had a knack for video games. Whether it be playing them, keeping up to date on the latest industry news, or the methods and procedures on how they're made; the topic always piqued his interest. He enjoyed the topic so much that he decided to pursue an education in it.

In September 2018, Mustafa attended the Game Development & Entrepreneurship program at Ontario Tech University. There, he learned the ins and outs of Game Development and made connections that would last him a lifetime. He learned how to program in C++, how to 3D model in programs like Blender, and how to develop in engines such as Unity and Unreal. Mustafa also learned how to effectively work as a team, using project management applications like Trello and Jira to ensure all of our deliverables are met while also keeping the scope in check. While he was exposed to all aspects of Game Development, he mostly specialized in Game Design & Sound Design for a multitude of games.

During the Spring of 2021, amidst the pandemic, Mustafa managed to land himself a job at TD bank as an Application Support analyst. There he provided server support for over 8 in-house applications, as well as became well accustomed to the UNIX Operating System while also being further exposed to the Jira workflow.

Why Digital Media?

At the end of the last Semester of his Undergrad in 2022, Mustafa was at a bit of a crossroads. His Contract at TD was just about to end and he was about to graduate from his undergrad in a few months. Instead of committing to any one particular job or field, Mustafa decided to join the MDM program to broaden his horizons and to see what else there was left in store for him. While he did feel accomplished with his Game Development projects and his professional experience at TD, he just really wanted to explore his capabilities and options in other forms of media other than Game Development.
