Biography

Dhruva is a 3D artist with a background in game development, specializing in prop modeling as well as being a 3D generalist. He has done 2 internships as a prop modeler with game development start-ups as well as being a junior prop modeler for a metaverse start-up. 

Ever since he played his first video games on classic devices such as the GameCube, GameBoy, and PS1, he found the aspect that captivated him the most was the art that the player would interact with. This led to his interest in and pursuit of learning the process of developing 3D game art in his undergraduate. Today, Dhruva focuses on perfecting his skills in 3D prop art as well as pushing to improve his knowledge of 3D character art workflows. His ultimate end goal is to one day work in triple-A game development to vastly improve every facet of his 3D art skills.

Why Digital Media?

I chose Digital Media to explore the many avenues of what I could possibly do with 3D modeling and with the entertainment field as a whole. I also felt that it would provide me with the necessary knowledge of digital spaces to push me and innovate in order to pursue my dream of one day starting my own game development studio.

Blade Spire: Developing a Digital 3D Interactive Comic to Push Storytelling & Innovation

This research project aims to explore the possibilities of innovation within the digital 3D comic book space utilizing interactive elements to aid in storytelling. My project is called Blade Spire which is a digital comic developed within the Unreal engine utilizing a mixture of 3D and 2D assets to create environments with interactable objects, presenting more information to aid the narrative as well as the readers engagement. This project will serve as a proof of concept for others researching innovation for digital comics as well as evaluate the idea of adding interaction for improving story elements.
