Biography

Chelsea Nyomi is a visual storyteller whose work explores the connectivity of the world through art. Her interests lie in artistic identity, cultural identity, sentimental stories, and community building through shared experiences. As a multidisciplinary artist, she expresses these interests through the mediums of film, photography, graphic design, creative direction, and writing.

She works as a video editor in the film & television industry and is an independent filmmaker/freelance videographer. Chelsea is also the founder of a small business, Vagus Creatives (www.vaguscreatives.net), a blog and magazine dedicated to sharing the stories and work of artists and creative entrepreneurs worldwide.

Why Digital Media?

The Digital Media program stood out to me due to its interdisciplinary curriculum and opportunities for the creation of a final project. The program also focuses on entrepreneurship in the digital media industry; this stood out to me because I intend to develop an app prototype. This app will be an extension of my current small business, Vagus Creatives, which is a platform dedicated to artists and creative entrepreneurs. My career objectives are to continue the development of Vagus Creatives as a form of entrepreneurship.
