New Default Compose Experience in Gmail!

Google has re-designed the Gmail compose experience that saves you time, uses less screen space, and is simple to use. The new compose experience opens a window at the bottom of your inbox. You can compose multiple messages at once, search through your inbox and even reply to other messages all while keeping your new draft open.

NOTE: All users will be able to temporarily opt-out of this new experience.

  • Check your mail while typing
  • Formatting options appear only when you need them

How to Switch Back

If a user wants to temporarily switch back to the old compose interface, it can be done at any time following these steps:

  1. Click Compose
  2. At the bottom right side corner of the message pane, select the More Options button  next to the Discard Draft button (as shown)

  3. Select "Temporarily switch back to old compose."
