Curriculum and Program Focus Areas
(opens in new window)
Click image to download a (PDF file) PDF version (opens in new window) . Students admitted before Fall 2024 follow a slightly different pathway through the curriculum, see (PDF file) this PDF chart (opens in new window) (and note e.g. 2 out of 3 capstone courses, now 1 out of 2).
This chart provides general orientation about program focus, course types and selection, as well as prerequisite structure. It is limited to GEO-coded program courses, which account for about one half of the credits for your degree. Each student will take only eight of the program electives listed in the Year 3-4 space (white boxes). For detailed information on required and elective courses, please consult the Geographic Analysis program curriculum in the university calendar.
Upon student request, we are also providing possible job titles for each area of concentration. These are taken from real alumni profiles and illustrate the types of careers Geographic Analysis students can pursue. Read more about student pathways and alumni careers on the "Career Readiness" and "News & Events" pages.
