Congratulations to Master of Spatial Analysis (MSA) student Jessica Budhoo on winning the 2020 President's Prize of the Canadian Cartographic Association (external link, opens in new window) . Jessica submitted a map poster assignment created in the 2019 fall semester at Ryerson. Under the headline "You Are What You Eat", Jessica maps the spatial relationships between households with severe food insecurity, food-related service locations, household income, and health outcomes across Toronto neighbourhoods.
Jessica came to Ryerson with a BA in Archaeology from the University of Toronto. In the MSA program, her major research paper aimed at "Locating Undocumented Migrant Populations: A Case Study using Statistical Data of Cork City of Sanctuary, Ireland". She is now completing a post-graduation internship in the Data Solutions team at Environics Analytics.
