White Wall Review is a literary journal showcasing exciting and innovative poetry, prose, and short fiction of the Ryerson community, as well as acclaimed national and international artists in its annual publication. Copies of WWR 39 will be available for purchase. The reading line-up for the launch will include: Persis Karim is a poet, editor and professor in the Department of English & Comparative Literature at San Jose State University in California. She has edited three anthologies of Iranian diaspora literature: A World Between: Poems, Short Stories and Essays by Iranian Americans (1999), Let Me Tell You Where I've Been: New Writing by Women of the Iranian Diaspora (2006), and Tremors: New Fiction by Iranian American Writers (2013). Her poetry has been published in Reed Magazine, Caesura, Callalloo, Heart Lodge and several other publications. Samantha Bernstein’s memoir, Here We Are Among the Living, was published by Tightrope in 2012. She is a Doctoral Candidate at York University, studying the ethics of writing about poverty, and lives in Toronto with her husband and toddler. Danyse Golick is currently finishing her MA in the Literatures of Modernity program at Ryerson University. She holds a BA in English and Communications from McGill University. Cameron MacDonald is studying English at Ryerson and is currently the Editor-in-Chief for the creative collective The Continuist and a recent research practicant at the Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre. His poetry and short stories have been featured in The Claremont Review, Young Adult Review Network, Language and Manner, and Ryerson Folio. Klara du Plessis is currently working on a book of poems that she hopes to see in print soon. She was shortlisted for the 2013 Robert Kroetsch Award for Innovative Poetry, and curates the monthly Resonance Reading Series in Montreal. She holds a MA degree in English Literature from McGill University.
