Bart Beaty, a Professor of English at University of Calgary and author of Comics vs. Art (U of Toronto Press, 2012) will give a lecture entitled " Twelve-Cent Archie: America's Most Iconic Teenagers in Comics," followed by a Q & A session. The event is free and open to the general public. Refreshments will be served. This event is part of Ryerson's ADVANCING COMIC STUDIES series hosted and organized by the Modern Literature and Culture Research Centre. The event is sponsored by the Department of English through a Faculty of Arts Special Events Grant.
