EDC Access for Undergrad Students in the Winter 2024 Term Ended on April 26th

EDC access for undergraduate students enrolled in courses during the 2024 Winter Term has ended. Only students enrolled in Creative School courses that run in the Spring/Summer 2024 Term are eligible to use EDC equipment and facilities.

Patron Portal

Patron Portal is a fast and easy way for patrons to make reservations. Patrons must have signed the EDC Liability Form before access Patron Portal. To make a reservation online, patrons must also:

  • Have no outstanding fines or holds on their account
  • Are authorized for use of the equipment or facilities (unauthorized items will not appear for users in EDC Online)
  • Pick-up and return times must be set within EDC operational hours

When making reservations online make sure to check reservation time limit errors and circulation errors.

Please note reservations made via Patron Portal are subject to approval by full time EDC Staff.

There are a few circulation limits that the EDC imposes on reservations an checkouts. EDC Online reservations can not be confirmed if there are errors. Below are some common ones that should be avoided and how to correct them.

No Signature on File
    You must complete the  (google form) EDC Liability Form (external link, opens in new window)  before making your first reservation via the Patron Portal        

Maximum Checkout/Reservation Length
    The resources selected have limits on how long they can be taken out. Reduce the allocation duration to fall within the limits.

EDC is Closed at Pickup or Return Time
    The start or end times of the reservation are set to when the EDC is closed. Change them so they are when the EDC is open.

30 Minutes between Open or Close
    To allow for proper opening and closing procedures in the EDC, reservation pickups and returns are not allowed within 30 minutes of the EDC opening or closing.

Maximum Circulation Events Exceeds 15 Allocations
    In order to limit the number of patrons in the EDC at one time we limit the number of circulation events (pickups and returns combined) to 15 per every 15 minutes. To fix this, adjust the reservation's start or end time by 15 minutes.
