TMU Falcon
3D printed falcon fidget
Project Description
These little Falcons were created for The Creative School's 2024-2025 Open House events. They were designed to be printed quickly, efficiently at the same time that they promote technology at The Creative School.
Each Falcon is made of two parts that snap together. The feet rock back and forth, and the head rotates, making it a fun fidget toy.
Software:
3D modelling Software Blender
Machine:
3D printer Bambu P1P
Material: PLA (Polylactic Acid) Fillament
This project necessetated a great deal of design, prototyping and fine tuning to ensure that each little falcon came in at the right material weight and size.
The misprints that happened through our production process supported our research into ways of reducing our PLA waste. Specifically, we took the opportunity to grind the misprints into small pieces, which were then heat pressed into sheets suitable for laser cutting.
