Welcome to all incoming Faculty of Arts students for Fall 2024! Please see important information below which will be updated throughout July and August. We look forward to welcoming you on campus!

The transition to university is an exciting time, but it can be a challenging time, too. There are a number of things you need to know and are able to do during the summer months, before classes formally begin in September, to make this transition as smooth as possible. Here are eight ways to prepare for the start of classes.

Your online ID gives you access to a variety of online resources including Gmail, MyServiceHub, D2L Brightspace, etc. You must activate your online identity 24 hours prior to adding and enrolling courses on MyServiceHub.

Visit the CCS website (opens in new window)  for information on how to activate your online identity.

Important: Students are required to set up Two-Factor Authentication for security purposes. Please visit the CCS website (opens in new window)  on how to set up Two-Factor Authentication. Students should download the Google Authenticator app on their mobile phone or a U2F security key can be purchased from the Campus Bookstore which can be plugged into your computer and provides authentication for two-factor logins.

Apply online for your OneCard. See the OneCard website (opens in new window)  for more details. Incoming students are required to apply for their OneCard online and submit a photo for their card.

Students can begin adding courses to their shopping carts on August 1, 2024. You will then be able to finalize course enrollments on Tuesday, August 6 starting at 6:00 a.m. View your program's enrollment information to find out what type of assistance they are offering to help you with course selection and enrollment. Click on the 'Program Enrollment Information' tab above to find out more details.

You will complete course selection and enrollment on MyServiceHub (accessed via my.torontomu.ca). Please view the video and web tutorials on using MyServiceHub found under the 'Enrollment Tutorials' tab above well in advance of the enrollment period which begins August 6, 2024.

Using MyServiceHub you can add courses to your shopping cart as of August 1, 2024. You will then have access to complete your enrollments for Fall 2024 starting on August 6, 2024. You should follow your enrollment worksheet when selecting courses. The enrollment worksheet for your program can be found under the "Program Enrollment Information" tab above.

See the Events & Orientation tab to learn more about our events in August and follow the Society of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (SASSH) (external link)  on social media for more information and updates as they become available.

The Student Awards and Scholarships (opens in new window)  office aims to help Toronto Metropolitan University students and staff with the Scholarship and Awards application process. Be sure to complete your AwardSpring profile (external link, opens in new window)  in August (see website (opens in new window)  for key dates and details) to be automatically matched with awards and scholarships you might qualify for!

Follow us on Facebook (external link, opens in new window) , Twitter (external link, opens in new window) , LinkedIn (external link, opens in new window)  and Instagram (external link, opens in new window) . They are great ways to keep in touch with us, to find out what’s going on, and to learn more about our Faculty and students.

It’s a good idea to tour the campus before the first week of classes so that you are familiar with the campus. The Undergraduate Admissions Office is now offering guided virtual campus tours. You should pre-register for a tour online through the Undergraduate Admissions Office (opens in new window) .

Luckily post-secondary students are eligible for a discounted TTC Metropass and GO Presto Card! Please visit the TTC website (external link, opens in new window)  for information on Post-Secondary Monthly Metropasses. For GO transit discounted fare, please visit the following website (opens in new window) .

Get involved in things that interest and inspire you! Discover the wealth of opportunities available to you both on campus and in the community. You’ll be able to meet new people, share your skills and develop new ones, add to your resume while giving back to the community all while playing an important, active role in the broader Toronto Metropolitan University community.

Visit Get Involved (opens in new window)  on the Student Experience Website for more details.

Toronto Metropolitan University offers a wide range of personal and academic support services such as:

Parent/Guardian Orientation - Faculty of Arts:  This orientation session is designed to elicit your support in building an engaging and positive learning environment for all Faculty of Arts students – your children. As a Guardian or a Parent, it is important that you feel that you do your very best to support your child in their transition from high school to university and beyond. When is a Guardian/Parent's work ever done? We understand your role in your child’s life. Together, we will explore ways you can offer support to your child at the right academic time with the most appropriate specialized resources. More importantly, you will gain some techniques on how and when to initiate difficult conversations with your child regarding their educational progress and career decision making. This session will be facilitated by Sonny Wong, the Faculty of Arts Registered Psychotherapist with a focus on Career Identity Development. Since 2008, he has been offering individual career counselling exclusively to Faculty of Arts Students assisting them in fostering healthy career identities. Date for parent/guardian orientation session TBA.

Information on the Fall 2024 Pre-Enrollment Workshop will be posted in June.
