Mihai conducted research on the dendrite coherency point of the AZ91E magnesium alloy and the effects of different grain refiners on the dendritic structure. Knowledge about the coherency point of an alloy would allow better prediction of mold filling under specified pouring conditions (i.e. mold temperature and liquid metal temperature).
