Anthony’s main field of specialization is metallurgy and materials science, specifically for low density Al and Mg based alloys. His past research mainly dealt with the optimization of casting and heat treatment parameters to improve the mechanical properties, minimize tensile residual stress and thereby mitigate potential in-service cylinder distortion in aluminum engine blocks. This research is critical to ensure high quality automotive components, which will prevent expensive recalls and improve engine operating efficiency.

After completing his PhD, Anthony went on to work at the University of Toronto as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Since then, he has moved on to work as a R&D Engineer at Nemak Windsor.
