Our Facilities

The Toronto Metropolitan University campus sits on a 21-acre site in the heart of downtown Toronto. The campus is a safe, modern, and attractive space. Most of its facilities are nestled to the north-east of the Yonge Street and Dundas Street East intersection.

Toronto Met Architectural Science Day Camp programs centre around a few main facilities: the Architectural Science building, the Pitman Quad, the Kerr Hall Quad, and the Recreation & Athletics Centre (RAC).

All Toronto Met Architectural Science Day Camp facilities meet and exceed the high standards of the Ontario Camps Association, as well as the standards of local Health and Fire Departments. TMU facilities are maintained in excellent condition, allowing campers to participate safely in programming of all sorts.

From newly-renovated studio spaces to state-of-the-art labs, the Department of Architectural Science facilities will give campers the oppurtunity to learn, collborate, and explore design interests. 

Campers will have the opurtuinity to see the Department's advanced collection of tools and technologies at work. The Digital Fabrication Lab, including laser-cutting systems, and the Robot & CNC Lab are a critical making spaces that will support campers in three-dimensional design.

Campers registered in the Digital Creativity session will have the oppurtunity to use the Department's computer lab. The CAD Lab features 40 graphics workstations with a wide range of architectural and building science software applications that will expand camper's digital skillset.

Pitman Quad

Nestled between the Rogers Communications Centre building and the Pitman Hall residence, the Pitman Hall Quad is an idyllic outdoor space in the heart of campus. The Quad's adjacent location to the Architectural Science Building generates an ideal space for quick outdoor activities during the day at camp, ensuring a balence of both physical excercise and brain excercise for campers.

Kerr Hall Quad

The Kerr Hall Quad is a beautiful green space located at the centre of the Toronto Metropolitan University campus. The Quad is surrounded by mature trees, which make the space a quiet and safe location for camp activities.

RAC pool.

The Recreation & Athletic Centre (RAC) serves as the central hub for all things wellness, recreation and sport at Toronto Metropolitan University. 

A pool is included in the facilities offered at the RAC. Campers registered in the Make or Break session will visit the RAC to use the pool for a bridge building activity.

Parking, Transit, and Drop-off/Pick-up

There is limited paid parking on Gerrard Street East between Yonge and Church streets. There are also plenty of parking lots nearby (including at 300 Victoria St (external link, opens in new window) ).

For those travelling by public transit, Toronto Metropolitan University is located at TMU subway station (external link, opens in new window) .

If you are walking from TMU subway station, we recommend walking north on Yonge Street to Gerrard Street. From there, turn right (east) onto Gould Street and walk until you reach Church Street. Once you cross Church Street, turn left (north) and walk until you reach the Church Street enterance (main enterance) of the Architectural Science Building.

Drop-off from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. and pick-up from 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. will always happen at the main enterance of the building. Please contact dascamps@tonrotmu.ca for further clairification on drop-off and pick-up if needed.

When a child is picked up at the end of the day, the adult picking them up must sign out with the camper’s counsellor.
