Hon. Justice Gregory Regis

Former Regional Senior Justice, Ontario Court of Justice

Gregory has been a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice since 1999. In 2007, he became the first person of colour in Canada to be appointed a Regional Senior Justice. Before entering the legal profession, Gregory had a successful career as a journalist and editor with Associated Press and CBC Radio and Television, among other international news services. He is an active community leader and has served in leadership positions in several organizations focused on development and culture. Gregory is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Ryerson, the Vice-Chancellor’s Award from the University of the West Indies and the Harry Jerome Lifetime Achievement Award.

I am part of a group that took the notion from university that a university degree is not only is good for you, but also gives you the responsibility to go out and build your community.
