Jillian founded the Ryerson University HR Alumni Association (RHRAA) soon after her graduation, in 2011. Under her leadership, the group has hosted a number of wonderful events, including the NKE study sessions and HR Analytics and Succession Planning events, as well as the TRSM Business Alumni Skate. Her group has also developed a HR Mentorship Program and partnered with the Canadian HR Press to sponsor a HR Student Award. Jillian, along with her team, created a campaign entitled “HUG” — or Help Us Grow as a fun way for Ryerson University alumni and industry to give back financially to the university. It’s a testament to her hard work and dedication that she has started and maintained a strong association for her alma mater.
The love of getting involved and really wanting to volunteer and give back comes from just having such a good, engaging environment in [TMU] to begin with.
