Legal Innovation Zone Partners with City of Toronto to Boost Legal Tech Solutions
TORONTO, August 11, 2022 — The Legal Innovation Zone (LIZ) at Toronto Metropolitan University is launching its third cohort of Sprint Studio, in partnership with the City of Toronto (external link) . The 12-week, online program is designed to support up and coming legal tech entrepreneurs from across the world, and focuses on building a market-ready product and developing a customer base.
“Since launching Sprint Studio in 2019, we have supported and guided legal tech startups on almost every continent,” says Chris Bentley, Managing Director at the LIZ. “We are excited to partner with the City of Toronto to drive forward innovation in the legal sector, with a special focus on Toronto, and help build better solutions for consumers of legal services everywhere.”
The City of Toronto will provide funding towards the 2022 cohort of Sprint Studio, through its Business Incubation and Commercialization Grant Program (external link) (BIC), to help enhance programming and resources.
Participants of Sprint Studio will learn how to engage with early adopters, build a Minimum Viable Design (MVP) and create a sales funnel through ongoing mentorship from industry experts and their community of colleagues.
“Sprint Studio helps bridge the gap in the global legal market, by supporting entrepreneurs who have the solutions to combat the current challenges faced by the industry and its consumers,” says Hersh Perlis, Director at the LIZ. “Receiving this support from the City of Toronto will help improve our service offering for these entrepreneurs.”
Sprint Studio is part of a streamlined pathway that guides and supports entrepreneurs in building a market-ready product. Applications for the 2022 cohort are now open, and close on September 12. The program will run weekly from September 21 until December 7, 2022.
