Submitting Visa Applications for Ukrainians to come to Canada:

Visa applications can be submitted online (external link, opens in new window)  from anywhere in the world. Biometrics can be given at any visa application centre (external link, opens in new window)  (VAC) outside of Ukraine. VACs are open in Moldova, Romania, Austria and Poland, and there is an extensive VAC network across Europe.   1. Ontario just announced the new $1.9M Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship which will support "eligible persons who have been admitted to Canada on an emergency basis for humanitarian reasons and are enrolled at Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities".
  2. Canadian Bureau for International Education (external link, opens in new window) ‘s official statement regarding war in Ukraine.
  3. The Government of Canada has announced special funding in the form of supplements to existing research grants that will provide relief and assistance to research trainees from Ukraine. The Special Response Fund for Trainees (external link, opens in new window)  is administered by Canada’s three federal research funding agencies and targets graduate students and postdoctoral researchers directly impacted by the crisis.   4. Scholars at Risk (SAR) initiative (external link, opens in new window)  helps to host academics fleeing Ukraine. If you know at-risk Scholars, they can register with Scholar at Risk (external link, opens in new window)  and the Scholar Rescue Fund (external link, opens in new window) .
  5. Lawyers in the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) (external link, opens in new window)  Immigration Law Section organized a Pro Bono initiative (external link, opens in new window)  to provide legal services, without charge, to individuals affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
  6. Resources for People Fleeing Ukraine (external link, opens in new window)  - this website provides a compillation of resources including volunteer organizations contacts, evacuation routes, financial help, government organizations information etc.
