Current Microsoft Office Certification Pathway

As of October 28th, 2022, Ted Rogers School undergraduate and alumni are eligible to sign up for the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate Certification Path. The seats are limited based off of a first come first serve basis. At this time, examinations are set to be conducted virtually towards the end of November.

Demonstrate that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Excel by earning the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate certification. This certification demonstrates competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects.

An individual earning this certification has proven competency at an industry associate-level and is ready to enter into the job market. They can demonstrate the correct application of the principal features of Excel and can complete tasks independently.

 

*Please note that this pathway is not applicable for those who have already passed Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate (Office 2019) Certification*

Steps to complete Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate Certification Path:

  1. Obtain Power of Excel Badge 2.0
  2. Sign up for the Info Session to start your path
  3. Attend Info Session and Exam Prep Session
  4. Challenge and pass the following exam
    • ✔  MO-200: Microsoft Excel (Excel 2019)

Previous Microsoft Office Certification Pathways

Starting in Fall 2021, Ted Rogers School students and alumni became eligible to sign up for two Microsoft Certifications pathways. The previous pathways that were available were the Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate Certification and the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals Certification. Please see more details on past pathways below. Please reference the current section above to see both current and returning pathways that we are offering.

To start your pathway, you will be required to sign up for an available intake period per schedule below.

Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate Certification

Demonstrate that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Office by earning a Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate certification in multiple Office programs.

The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications will provide industry-leading assessments of skills and knowledge through project-based testing. These projects will test your skills as they would be in the real world and validate your understanding of the Microsoft Office program functionality. This guarantees that every certified user has demonstrated the ability to operate the full features and gives you a competitive edge in today’s academic and professional environments.

To complete your requirements, you will be provided access to Hub Digital, Business Career Hub’s digital learning experience platform focused on providing you with asynchronous learning opportunities. Through Hub Digital, you will be able to complete your requirements to prepare you for the MO-100: Microsoft Word and MO-300: Microsoft PowerPoint examinations.

Steps to complete Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate Certification Path:

  1. Register for Intake Information Session
  2. Attain any Power of Excel Badge 2.0 (Excel Level 1- 3 + Challenge completion required)
  3. Complete Word Trail and PowerPoint Trail in Hub Digital
  4. Challenge and pass the following exams:
    • ✔  MO-100: Microsoft Word (Word and Word 2019)
    • ✔  MO-200: Microsoft Excel (Excel and Excel 2019)
    • ✔  MO-300: Microsoft PowerPoint (PowerPoint and PowerPoint 2019)

The Microsoft Certified Fundamentals exams are a pathway to fully understanding what cloud computing is, what options are available from Microsoft, and which options make sense for businesses to invest in.

Power Platform Fundamentals certification path will prepare those who aspires to improve productivity by understanding the capabilities of the Power Platform, automating basic business processes with Power Automate, performing basic data analysis with Power BI to produce business insights, acting more effectively by creating simple PowerApps canvas app experiences, and creating powerful chatbots without using code.

Steps to complete Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals Certification Path:

  1. Register for Intake Information Session
  2. Attain Power BI Badge 2.0 (Power BI Level 1 - 2 + Challenge)
  3. Complete Power Platform Bootcamp (Level 1 - 3)
  4. Challenge and pass the following exams:
    • ✔  PL-900: Power Platform Fundamentals
