How to apply

You’ve applied to Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) as an undergraduate or graduate student, or you’re a current TMU student and you want to apply for transfer credits.
If you’ve completed courses at a college or university in Canada or you’ve completed advanced secondary courses (A Levels, AP examinations, CAPE, CEGEP, French Baccalaureate, IB HLs), your courses may be in our database. If they’re not, you’ll use the link in your Transfer Credit Report to upload your course outlines.
If your studies were completed outside of Canada, you’ll need to fill out the Manual Transfer Credit Application (opens in new window) and submit documents to support your application. You won’t use the process outlined below. Review our document requirements for details on what to submit.
If you are a Chang School student, please find your application instructions on the Chang School certificate studies page.
Your Offer of Admission may outline possible transfer credit restrictions. Sometimes transfer credits are already granted with your Offer. Read your Offer of Admission carefully!
- If you've been admitted to the fall term and your transfer credits were granted with your Offer, they’ll show on your Transfer Credit Report after May 1.
- If you've been admitted to the winter or spring terms, your transfer credits will show on your Transfer Credit Report once granted.
If your course is in progress (IP) and we can’t confirm the final grade, it won’t appear on your Transfer Credit Report. You also won’t be able to upload course outlines (if they’re needed for assessment). When you have a final grade, you’ll need to have a new official transcript submitted. Our system won’t allow you to edit an IP grade.
For important information, review the transfer credit policies and application deadlines before you start.
