Log in to RAMSS, opens in new window to submit your Transfer Credit Application. For a detailed step-by-step guide, please visit the How to Apply to Transfer Credits page.

You should aim to submit all eligible courses from your previous institution in one submission. Be sure to input exact course codes from your previous institution by using the look-up feature — do not input course codes that look similar.

If, while applying on RAMSS, you are unable to find the course code using the lookup feature, please email tcredits@ryerson.ca with the course code, title and the name of your previous institution. After receiving confirmation that these courses have been added, you can return to the application to submit your remaining courses.

An instant unofficial course equivalency information will be displayed upon submitting your application. Unofficial results are based on previously established equivalencies contained in the Toronto Metropolitan University Transfer Credit Database. If a course has not yet been evaluated for transfer credit equivalency (No Rule), you will need to upload a detailed course outline through your Transfer Credit Report after your application is processed.

  • Newly admitted students starting in fall: Our office will start processing applications in May for students who have confirmed their offer of admission.
  • Current students: Our office will process most applications in about five business days.

After your applications are processed, you will receive an acknowledgement email.

You can upload course outlines for No Rule courses only after your applications have been processed. Faculty assessment for No Rule courses can take six to eight weeks upon submission of a complete course outline.

You will find your official transfer credit results posted to your Transfer Credit Report on RAMSS. If we are unable to confirm a final grade (IP) for a course, it will not appear on your Transfer credit report and you will not be able to upload course outlines. Please note that you cannot edit previously submitted IP grades. To resolve this issue, submit a more recent transcript.

Method 2: Manual application upload

The manual application upload is only available to currently enrolled TMU undergraduate students or newly admitted undergraduate students who have confirmed their offer of admission.

  • Students who have completed courses at international institutions
  • Students who have completed courses at some Canadian institutions that are not eligible for Method 1 on RAMSS (my.ryerson.ca).
  • Students who have completed advanced secondary courses, such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and CEGEP courses

Submit a Manual Transfer Credit Application, opens in new window and upload a detailed PDF course outline for each course.

 Note: The Academic Calendar course descriptions are not sufficient for faculty assessment. Your applications will be marked as incomplete — this will delay the processing of your application.

If your previous school transcript does not contain course codes, please ensure that you use a different course code for each course. Do not duplicate course codes. For advanced secondary courses such as IB and AP, select your high school on the application.

  • Newly admitted students starting in fall: Our office will start processing applications in May for students who have confirmed their offer of admission.

After your application is processed, transfer credit decisions will be posted to your Transfer Credit Report on RAMSS over the next eight weeks as faculty evaluations are completed.

If we are unable to confirm a final grade (IP) for a course, it will not appear on your Transfer Credit Report and you will not be able to upload course outlines. Please note that you cannot edit previously submitted IP grades. To resolve this issue, submit a more recent transcript.

As you submit courses using Method 2, you will see a list of courses submitted with a successful upload message. If you log back in at a later time, the course submission history won’t be displayed; however, know that your submissions were successfully received.

General Info for Undergraduate Students

  • Courses that require faculty assessment require the submission of detailed course outlines and decisions may take up to eight weeks
  • You may apply for credits using completed or in-progress (IP) courses. Applications for credits using IP courses or for which official final grades cannot be confirmed, will not be displayed on the Transfer Credit Report and you will not be able to upload course outlines.  They will appear when official transcripts confirming grades are received

  • Courses completed over 10 years ago require individual faculty evaluation. Wait until your applications are processed and use the link in your acknowledgment email to upload the original course outline for evaluation. These courses may have the prefix ‘OLD’ added to the course code on your Transfer Credit Report
  • You may receive an incomplete application email requesting you to submit a more recent transcripts or a more detailed course outline
  • You are not required to re-submit transcripts submitted at the time of admission as these will be on file. However, you will require information from your transcript (course codes and final grades) to complete your applications.
