During your first year at the School of Business Management, you'll acquire the foundational business knowledge that prepares you to specialize in a major.

Major overview

One of Canada’s leading Entrepreneurship programs with a large dedicated faculty, the Ted Rogers School of Business Management offers more undergraduate entrepreneurship courses than any other English language university in Canada.

Prepare to start your own business, learn how to be entrepreneurial within existing organizations or help start-up ventures succeed.

The Entrepreneurship major will teach you how to become an entrepreneur and play a key role in society by relentlessly pursuing opportunities to create and sustain a competitive and viable enterprise. The Entrepreneurship major is designed for you, whether your goal is to own your own business or to assist existing organizations grow and develop.

Entrepreneurship faculty are also dedicated to producing research that is of high academic and intellectual value, and relevant to industry. Researchers focus on addressing fundamental questions: where entrepreneurial opportunities come from, why some firms and individuals choose to exploit them, and how these efforts can be made more successful.

Business management students must complete a total of 40 credits which include Required, Required Group or Professional Elective, Professionally-Related and Liberal Studies courses. The curriculum provides you with a general overview of business in society, introduces you to all of the basic business functions, and develops awareness of social, human and economic issues through the introduction of the liberal studies.

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)

The part-time program is offered to accommodate students who intend to take the degree at a slower pace than the full-time day program, due to the demands of daytime employment and/or family obligations. Part-time students fulfil their course requirements primarily in the evenings by enrolling in courses through the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education for the first six semesters, and through The Ted Rogers School of Business Management evening course offerings for semesters seven and eight. Part-time students are entitled to enroll in a maximum of three courses per semester.

Please note: not all Law courses are offered in the evenings, students will be required to take some day Law courses to complete their degree.
