Implementation and measuring success
To support the ongoing implementation of the Academic Plan 2025–2030, the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic works with the University Planning Office (UPO) to develop the plan’s implementation strategy, support faculties and areas to develop their local strategic plans, identify useful metrics and track progress toward the plan’s objectives. Progress updates on initiatives at the department level and institutionally are provided annually to Senate and Board of Governors.
Local strategic plans
In order to implement the TMU Academic Plan, all faculties and academic units have developed local strategic plans covering a five-year period. This embeds implementation of Transforming Futures in local planning across the Provost’s portfolio. Each plan aligns with the university’s Academic Plan priorities while reflecting their distinct mandates, contexts and areas of focus, and was developed through local engagement and in consultation with the Provost’s Office.
These local plans guide unit-level decision-making, resource planning and initiative development, and serve as a key mechanism for advancing the Academic Plan in practice.
