American Sign Language
American Sign Language (ASL) is a visual language and the most commonly used sign language in Canada and the USA.
Through active participation, students learn to communicate in ASL and about Deaf culture. In the introductory courses, you will develop your ability to understand and use ASL fingerspelling, simple affirmative and interrogative statements, and basic signs to use in everyday situations. In the intermediate-to-advanced courses, students learn more complex concepts, narrative structures, and registers.
If you do not have experience with ASL, please register for ASL 101. No placement test is required.
