D+TL LAB Services are closed for the summer! Regular Services will reopen in September 2025. If you are in need of D+TL fabrication support over the summer, please submit a project request form.
3D Printing at the LAB
We provide FDM, SLA and SLS 3D printing services for staff, students, and faculty of The Creative School. All 3D printing services are carried out by LAB staff at the Design + Technology LAB, DCC-B31. 3D printing files are processed daily on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The Lab will email patrons once their submitted files are processed and ready for payment/pick up! This email will include the service fees due. You must pay for your 3D printing fees using your University OneCard (students) or CashCard (faculty/staff) at the time of your pick-up.

Frequently Asked Questions about our 3D Printing Services
How long will it take for my Service Bureau submission to be ready?
We process Service Bureau submissions on a first-come-first-served basis. We do not guarantee turnaround times as they vary depending on the time of year. The last month of each semester is our busiest time of year. In all cases we recommend you provide us with at least 1-2 weeks of lead time to process your submission. We do not offer rush jobs.
How much will my Service Bureau submission cost?
We don’t offer estimates for Service Bureau submissions.
For 3D printing: final cost is determined by the amount of printing material used (in grams). You can get an idea of the final cost by previewing your model in either the Bambu Studio or Preform slicing software. To read more about this, (PDF file) click here.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept 3D print submissions as STL and OBJ files. You are also able to submit pre-sliced 3MF files. Please read through our guide on how to set up Bambu Slicer on your computer here.
