About

Combine creative-content modules with a business foundation and prepare for a career in the creative industries.

A truly interdisciplinary creative arts and business program, the Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries provides students with their choice of creative focus alongside a business foundation and core creative industries courses.

The dual focus of this degree enables you to explore and understand the Creative Industries as both creative process and commercial activity, build an agile skillset, and find a career path in the creative sectors.

Here’s how it works. You’ll build a strong foundation in business by taking courses taught by the Ted Rogers School of Management, TMU’s acclaimed business school. You’ll also choose two unique creative fields of focus to gain insight into specific creative sectors (choices include: Events and Live Entertainment, The Fashion Industry, The Music Industry, Professional Communication, The Art & Business of Film, Visual Culture, Curatorial Practices, The Business and Practice of News, Publishing and Printing, Storytelling in Media, Media Business and Live Events and Entertainment, to name a few.) Core Creative Industries courses, like Intellectual Property, round out your lecture-based content.

You’ll also undertake an internship after third year, to gain practical experience.  Students intern at companies across the creative sectors, from fashion to advertising, television, gaming, museums, film, and music - to name a few.

We prepare students for employment opportunities and advanced education in today’s creative economy, in roles that range from project management to creative director, from policy analyst to entrepreneur.
