Blessing  Mukuruva

Blessing Mukuruva is a migration and health researcher examining cross-border mobility, pandemic preparedness and health security in Southern Africa, with particular attention to truck drivers and other mobile populations at borderscapes. He brings experience in qualitative, quantitative and participatory research, field-team supervision, stakeholder engagement, community-based inquiry, data analysis, and research reporting.

His publications address precarity, essential work, climate-related migration, and health. As a Global Exchange Fellow at Toronto Metropolitan University, he will investigate how biopolitical and necropolitical responses shaped mobility governance during COVID-19, exchange multi-sited ethnographic methods, refine his doctoral analysis, and develop comparative research and joint publications.
