Scholarships & Awards

Each year, Toronto Metropolitan University and the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS) offer numerous entrance scholarships to incoming students who are accepted into an engineering program. The university and the Department of Architectural Science also offer awards for students that continue studies in their respective programs after first year. There are unique eligibility criteria for each of the entrance scholarships and the awards available to current students. More information on this can be found below.

To be considered for the undergraduate awards and scholarships in the table below, visit the university's scholarships and awards platform (external link) , log in with your Toronto Met account credentials, and enter the necessary application information. Once your application is complete, you will be matched to all of the awards, scholarships, and bursaries that you are eligible for. The department will notify award recipients shortly after the deadline.

B + H Architects Scholarship |
Recognizes a student who has completed 3rd year, and has the highest academic achievement in ASC 520 Integration Studio I and ASC 620 Integration Studio II. |
Baldassarra Architects Award |
Recognizes the achievement of a 3rd year student who has demonstrated academic excellence and innovation in completing a project in their second-year studios ASC 301 or ASC 401. |
Christian Martinelli Memorial Award |
Recognizes a student in the Building Science concentration who demonstrates outstanding ability to initiate collaborative activities and team building skills. |
Class of 1982 Architectural Science Alumni Memorial Award |
This award supports a student who plans to travel as part of an educational program or exchange. |
Craig Race Model Award |
Recognizes a student who demonstrates creativity and technique in the building of the architectural scale model. |
Craig Race Passive Sustainability Design Award |
Recognizes a student who demonstrates creativity in the use of passive design strategies on a studio project to improve its sustainability. |
Creative Infill Design Award | Recognizes a student who demonstrates a high level of design merit that incorporates creative, thoughtful, and sustainable strategies in an urban infill project. |
FCCP (Ont) Education Foundation Architecture Award

Recognizes a student who has completed their 3rd year and demonstrates initiative and innovation in a studio project with a focus on urban planning issues. |
Fiberglas Canada Inc. Award | Recognizes the combination of extra-curricular contributions in the field of study related to architecture/building/constrution, and the academic achievements of a student who has made a notable contribution to professionally-related student activities within DAS. |
Frank Leva Memorial Award |
Recognizes excellence in image-making within the Architectural Science disciplines. |
General Contractors Association of Toronto Award |
Recognize the academic achievement of students who are in the Project Management concentration and/or have taken Project Management courses in the 1st and 2nd years. |
GreenSaver Roger Algie Scholarship |
Recognizes a student in the Building Science concentration with the highest CGPA in 3rd year. |
Hanscomb Award |
Recognizes a student who has successfully completed ASC 522 Project Economics and ASC 622 Documentation and Constructon Contract in their 3rd year and has the best combined average of the two courses. |
Industry Supported Architecture Scholarship in Honour of Stewart Crawford |
Recognizes a student in their 2nd year who has demonstrated best overall academic performance in 1st year. |
Irena K. Orlowski Travel Award |
This award supports a student in their fourth/final year of the Architectural Science program who would like to go on exchange in the winter semester. |
Ledcor Architecture Scholarship in Honour of Stewart Crawford |
Recognizes a student who has demonstrated overall academic excellence and excelled in the technical courses. |
MARANT Construction Limited Award | EDI Award This award supports a 1st year student who self-identifies as an Aboriginal person in Canada (including First Nations [status or non-status], Metis or Inuit, self-identifies as Black (including those who identify as Afro-Caribbean or African-Canadian), self-identifies as a woman, including cisgender and transgender. Applicants must submit a written statement about their interests in architecture and what differences they intend to make in the field to advance the representation of equity-derserving groups in the AEC industry. |
Matthew and Anne Tomljenovic Awards |
Recognizes a student with the highest CGPA average among 2nd year Architecture courses, and a student with the highest CGPA average among 2nd year Building Science courses. |

Recognizes a student who demonstrates emerging talent in conveying design through 3D architectural visualization. |

Recognizes a student who has completed their 3rd year and has demonstrated an awareness and accomplishment in construction technology, as well as academic excellence. |
OAA Exceptional Leadership Through Design Excellence: Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) and/or Truth & Reconciliation Award | EDI Award Recognizes one undergraduate student who has demonstrated exemplary work related to the topics of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and/or Truth and Reconciliation. |
