Verseau

Josephine Kent wanted to solve the issue of limited choice and accessibility to unique and fashion pieces. That’s when she developed Verseau, a newly-launched line of female swimwear and lingerie based in Etobicoke, Ontario. Verseau’s products are handmade and designed locally in Toronto using high quality and individually sourced fabrics. Josephine is an artistic entrepreneur with a passion to create when inspired. Each idea of her personal ideas is expressed through what she designs, making sure to prioritize accessibility and affordability. Verseau wants to expand their demographic by planning a men’s fashion collection in the future. Josephine also answered these questions about her most important design pieces, and the creators that inspire her.

More about the BIPOC Women in Fashion Prize

BIPOC women face distinct barriers that can prevent them from realizing their entrepreneurship dreams. Notably is the lack of early-stage funding – an issue amplified by the pandemic. We at the Fashion Zone provide the resources entrepreneurs need on their road to success. But without access to funding, these entrepreneurs are not able to make the next step investments.⠀
⠀
The BIPOC Women in Fashion Prize will provide crucial funding and incubator resources to support the growth and success of high potential BIPOC founders – when they need it most. Help us reach our goal of $ 2,500 each year to a promising BIPOC entrepreneur or team! On top of this, Fashion Zone will match your generosity by providing one fee-free year of incubation and business support to take these entrepreneurs to the next level!⠀
