The Toronto Metropolitan Graduate Students’ Union (TMGSU) supports the graduate student journey by offering services such as health and dental coverage, funding for course unions, and hosting events to build a community on campus.
What's Available?
Health and Dental Plan (external link)
The mystudentplan provides health, prescriptions, dental, mental health care plus additional benefits for eligible students that are not covered by Provincial Health Care and Medical Travel Insurance.
The mywellnessplan provides you with specific tools, resources and support for mental health including access to a free and anonymous mental health assessment, video counselling at great rates, and financial education.

Funding for Travel Grant (external link)
The TMGSU travel grant is intended to assist graduate students who were active participants (e.g. speaker, poster presenter, member of a panel) at an academic-related conference with costs associated with conference registration, travel, and accommodations.
Funding for Professional Development Grant (external link)
The TMGSU professional development grant is intended to assist graduate students who attended a professional development-related seminar, certificate, conference or assist with professional membership fees. This includes attending seminars, receiving certificates (online or in person), professional association memberships, and conferences to further your professional development.
Legal Aid (external link)
The TMGSU offers free legal services to its members through their in-house lawyer, Bill Reid. The legal clinic exists as a way to support students who might not have access to resources or knowledge of the legal system.
Student Advocate (external link)
The TMGSU has access to a full-time staff person to assist members with academic or administrative issues that arise with the University.
