What's Available?

Student Experience Centre

A centre that supports Faculty of Arts students with their personal and professional development, providing services such as personal and career counselling, leadership training, community involvement opportunities, student funding, connections to campus-wide services, and more.

Arts Academic Support Coaches

Coaches who help Faculty of Arts students improve their writing and develop vital academic skills. Meetings take place online or in person, at any stage of your writing process – from brainstorming to polishing final drafts. Coaches also support academic skills, such as time management or exam preparation.  You can search for a topic and book a one-on-one appointment or register for a drop-in session.

Career Counselling

The Faculty of Arts has a designated and licensed career counsellor offering one-on-one, confidential counselling sessions and customized sharing group sessions to assist Faculty of Arts Students in developing personal strengths, resilience, and academic/career well being.

Arts Ambassador Program

A program providing Faculty of Arts students with opportunities to engage in their community and to develop meaningful, practical career and leadership skills gained through community engagement, professional development activities, and participation in workshops and seminars. Make new friends, earn badges, and build a portfolio that effectively showcases your new skills and knowledge.

Society of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities (SASSH)  (external link) 

A student-lead society where Faculty of Arts students can find community, events, funding, committees, and more. The SASSH’s goal is to represent, promote, and enhance the Faculty of Arts and all its respective programs and to protect the best interests of its members. They endorse activities and events that will enhance the educational and professional experience of its members.

Arts Lounge

A space where students can pursue academic goals, while fostering connections with the Faculty of Arts community through opportunities for academic development and interdisciplinary engagement. It includes the Arts Lounge Library.

Young Workers Rights Hub

The Young Workers Rights Hub supports Faculty of Arts students with their work by ensuring they understand their rights as young workers, how to exercise and expand them, and creating a safer work environment. The Hub offers information, education, stories, resources, unions and events.

Funding & Awards

The Faculty of Arts offers multiple awards that recognize students for their academic excellence, as well as their community involvement. There are awards for both undergraduate and graduate students.
