How do we define who is a “person”? Can we measure and define consciousness? What criteria is used to separate a person from a person-like being?

Join us on December 12th at 6pm at The Creative School Catalyst (RCC230) for a discussion on Artificial Intelligence Personhood led by Performance Professor Michael F. Bergmann. As a jumping off point for discussion we will be viewing pieces of media from Star Trek episodes that focus on AI and their legal rights and place in society. We will be discussing how non-human sentient beings are represented and treated within the context of the show and what it means for the rapidly changing landscape of AI in our own world. We’ll see you there!
