Overview

Dr. Ruzgar obtained her BSc in Mathematics from Marmara University, her MSc in Mathematics from Istanbul Technical University, and her PhD in Quantitative Methods from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey. In 2006, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Business in Quantitative Methods by the Higher Education Council of Turkey.

Her scholarly expertise encompasses mathematical modelling, simulation, data mining, and data analytics within business and educational contexts. She completed a one-year research appointment in Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Cornell University in New York, USA. Her industry experience includes two years at Eroglu Manufacturing and six years at Aktac Sport Manufacturing, where she contributed to production performance enhancement through simulation-based analyses.

Dr. Ruzgar has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international academic conferences. She is also the co-author of a Quantitative Methods textbook widely adopted by universities across Turkey. Dr. Ruzgar has developed, taught, and coordinated a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and statistics at Marmara University.

Since joining Ryerson University in 2010, she has continued to teach and coordinate mathematics and statistics courses for the Engineering, Science, and Business programs at both Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson University) and York University. She holds membership in several professional organizations, including the Decision Science Institute (DSI), the Mathematics Association, the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), the Operations Research Society, the Informatics Association, the Association of Econometrics, and the Ryerson University Data Science Laboratory.
