Professor Di Cintio is the Interim Chair of the School of Interior Design (2026). Her practice investigates the socio-political dimensions of design, with a focus on design activism, trauma-informed spaces, and materiality. Supported by several Social Sciences and Humanities awards, her current research involves active collaborations with a women’s shelter and a respite space for unhoused communities.
A dedicated advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, she integrates experiential learning with social justice. Her partnerships with First Nations communities in Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala have resulted in student-driven designs that support food bank users, earthquake survivors, and marginalized groups.
Her impactful work has earned fellowships from Massey College and MacDowell, as well as top honours, including the IDEC Community Service Award, a Silver Medal from Universidad Iberoamericana, and the EDI Award at TMU. Exceptionally recognized, her creative work has been exhibited globally at institutions including The Drawing Center (NY) and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
