Senate Elections

Senate Elections occur in the Spring and are conducted before April 1. The election schedule, vacancies, the election process and guidelines are announced in the spring and posted on the Senate. 

Standing Committee elections are usually held in Spring for faculty and announced by the May or June senate meeting (whichever applies) with the exception of many student senator positions, whereby the process to fill vacant positions begins in September, after Senate Orientation has occurred.

Appointment of Academic Administrators ("the AAA policy")

Review/Search Committee -  Dean, Lincoln Alexander School of Law (LASL) 

Nominations are now open to eligible Lincoln Alexander School of Law (LASL) faculty members and career staff to serve on the review/search committee for the position of Dean, LASL. All TFA faculty members in the Faculty may nominate candidates and the staff member elected or appointed to the review/search committee must be a fullĀ­-time University employee past their probationary period.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Nominations Open: Friday, Ocotober 11, 2024 

Nominations Close: Monday, October 21, 2024 @3pm

The fully completed nomination form (external link)  must be submitted by the nominee using this Google Form: https://forms.gle/PTbk6b9QytqLNwgs6 (external link)  by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21st, 2024. Email submissions and nominations received after the deadline date and time are invalid and will not be accepted.

ELECTION PROCESS (If necessary)

Candidate profiles will be posted by October 23rd and the online election will run from Thursday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 1st at 3:00 p.m. Details and reminders will be provided as those dates approach.

Graduate Student (YSGPS) Senator By-Election

A by-election was required to fill a vacant Graduate Student Senator position on Senate. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

Nomination Period: Thursday, September 5, 2024 to Friday, September 13, 2024, at 12:00 noon.

Voting for graduate students was between Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. and Monday, October 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m

The term for the Graduate student Senator representative will be one year, effective from today until June 30, 2025.
