Saagajiwe’s Indigenogogy Project

Indigenogogy

Indigenous Cultures of Creativity (minor course): Worldwide, Indigenous populations face challenges as resource-based economies transform. However, in many regions in the Indigenous world when the colonizers leave the remaining populations need to reinvent themselves. Indigenous Cultures of Creativity introduces adaptations, innovations, and inventions that characterizes Indigenous creativity in the arts and social sciences in diverse societies and across varieties of Indigenous human ecologies.

Minor in Indigenous Studies (program): Indigenogogy focuses on creation, adaptation, innovation, and invention that characterizes Indigenous arts and sciences in diverse societies, and across varieties of Indigenous human ecologies. The Saagajiwe MIS project develops the intramural “Minor in Indigenous Studies” through The Creative School, and across University disciplines. The project uses the Minor in Indigenous Studies as the foundation for the “Undeclared First Year Indigenous Studies” to be delivered in partnership with Indigenous Institutes.
