New Media

New Media is about exploring interactive art and how it can be used for cultural innovation.
In New Media at The Creative School, we teach students to thrive as creatives who embrace a variety of media and technology. You’ll hone your technical and artistic skills through hands-on learning and practical experience, using our high-tech studios and workshops as a playground for experimentation. Explore many different mediums — from kinetic art to robot construction and 3D printing — and discover a boundless world of creativity.
Opportunities to Share Your Work
Throughout the year, students connect with industry professionals, collaborate with peers and gain exposure by participating in:
- Hackathons
- Maker Fests
- Industry salons
- Festivals like Digifest, Nuit Blanche, & TIFF
They also share their work at an annual exhibition featuring installation art, interactive storytelling, augmented reality, video art, interactive sound projects, performance, games, and more.
Creative Spaces & Professional-grade Technology
The Creative School is home to several workshops, studios, labs, and zones, which provide spaces to build and create, opportunities to brainstorm, and support for kickstarting projects. Get your hands dirty, learn technical skills, and make something great.
