Indigenous Peoples and the Judicial System

The Lincoln Alexander School of Law is partnering with the Brazilian National Judicial School for Formation and Development (ENFAM) to host a conference on "Indigenous Peoples and the Judicial System: Challenges and Dialogues between Brazil and Canada."

Conference speakers include Professor John Borrows (University of Toronto), the Honorable Sébastien Grammond (Federal Court of Canada), Professor Priscylla Joca (Toronto Metropolitan University), Justice Raffaela Cássia de Sousa (Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region in Brazil) and Judge Matheus Miranda (Court of Justice of Minas Gerais in Brazil). 

The conference will be held on April 19, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET and is open to Brazilian judges as well as all students, faculty and staff of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. Individuals interested in attending can email Professor Joca (priscylla.joca@torontomu.ca) to receive a conference link. Portuguese to English translation will be provided.
