Student Jobs on Campus: Career Boost
The Career Boost program provides jobs to eligible full-time undergraduate, graduate, and international students. The program works in partnership with academic units, administrative units, faculty, staff, and students to support the practice and scholarship of learning at TMU.
Domestic Student Eligibility Criteria
- You are a full-time student. Full-time is defined as a minimum of three courses for the fall term and three courses for the winter term (or two courses per term if you are a student with a registered permanent disability or persistent/prolonged disability).
- You must reside in Ontario for the entire duration of your approved Career Boost period. Students residing out of Ontario are not eligible for Career Boost.
- You are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or Protected Person.
- You have a clear academic standing and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 or higher (waived for first year, first semester undergraduate students)
- You have utilized at least one of the following funding sources for the above-noted semesters:
- Government assistance (either Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) or out-of-province student funding)
- Accessing Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) funding
- Line of credit from a banking institution or private lender
- Note: If you are not utilizing at least one of the above mentioned funding resources, you may be asked to provide a written explanation and budget form as to why you did not apply for one of these resources.
- You demonstrate a financial need of at least $100 (determined through your Career Boost application).
International Student Eligibility Criteria
- You must be residing in Ontario during the duration of your employment
- You must hold a valid Social Insurance Number
- You must be officially registered as a full time student in an undergraduate/graduate program of study
- You must have a CGPA of 2.00 with clear academic standing on your last grade report (waived for first year international students)
- You can not be enrolled for part-time studies, the Chang School for Continuing Education for a Certificate program, TMUIC, or be an exchange student
Applying for Career Boost Approval
You have to submit a Career Boost Application through the Career Boost website.
Once you submit your eligibility application on the Career Boost website, please wait five business days to receive a decision on your application. An approval message will be sent to your TMU email by Student Financial Assistance.
