This work is part of the research project titled Thriving vs Surviving: Bridging Gaps in Canadian Disability Supports and is funded by the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) for Health Equity and Community Wellbeing (HECW). It has been reviewed and approved by the Toronto Metropolitan University Research Ethics Board (REB # 2025-551) with Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Karen Soldatić, CERC-HECW. If you have any questions, please contact the co-PIs, Dr. Nadia Carvalho (marianadia.carvalho@torontomu.ca) and/or Dr. Eun Jung (eun.jung@torontomu.ca) at TMU.

The purpose of the roundtable discussion is to understand what it means to “thrive” for persons with disabilities in Canada. We will be holding a series of virtual roundtable discussions (approximately 60-90 minutes) to obtain community feedback and recommendations to co-develop a framework on thriving with disabilities.  We are seeking the following participants in the roundtable discussions:

  • Persons with lived experience of disability and/or their families and caregivers,
  • Members of disability advocacy and civil society groups, or
  • Members of disability research organizations.

Participation is completely voluntary; the identity and responses of participants will remain confidential, and they can withdraw at any time without penalty. Those participating in roundtable discussions will receive a $50 gift card in appreciation of their time.
