Dr. Metersky's program of research focuses on: 1.) international and cross-national collaborations and partnerships; 2.) persons with social, economic and health challenges; 3.) nursing and interprofessional practice and education; and 4.) intersectionality and positionality in population-centred care. Fittingly her research program is focused on integration of her SRC work in pedagogy and practice to promote social justice, health-equity, and local/global community well-being.

Dr. Metersky is currently the co-city of Toronto lead for Dr. Sepali Guruge's Inclusive Communities for Older Immigrants (ICOI) project. She is also a member of the manuscript review board of several peer-reviewed journals and on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Health Trends and Perspectives. It is through the Mitacs program that Dr. Metersky has been able to bring students across the globe to TMU to undergo research mentorships under her supervision.

TMCIS occupies space in the traditional and unceded territory of nations including the Anishnaabeg, the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and territory which is also now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. This territory is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, as well as the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas.
