Black Excellence Mixer: Welcome to the Village

Join us at the seventh annual Black Excellence Mixer, where Black students, faculty, staff and alumni can authentically connect, support one another and work together to share stories. 

Let’s come together over good food, good music and great company. We invite you to connect with new and familiar faces, build common ground and expand your village by tapping into the vibrancy of the Black Community at TMU.  

What to expect 

The 2026 Black Excellence Mixer brings together Black students, faculty, staff and alumni to connect over delicious eats, music and conversation. We have a variety of opportunities planned to share ideas, ideals and experiences around the theme of “the village” which will leave you feeling warm, cozy and game for some friendly competition. 

Please note that we will have prayer rooms available and takeout containers for attendees that will be observing Ramadan.

Organizing committee

The Black Excellence Committee is a collaboration between Black staff, faculty and students from the Office of the Vice-Provost, Students (Student Life Programs); Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (Talent Management Centre of Expertise); Office of the Vice President, Administration and Operations (University Business Services); Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion; Alumni Relations; Lincoln Alexander School of Law; Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Work and Ted Rogers School of Management.
