Safia Thompson-Ramdoo She/Her

Juris Doctor, Lincoln Alexander School of Law

Safia Thompson-Ramdoo is a member of the inaugural class at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at TMU. Upon reflection, one of Safia’s greatest lessons throughout her time at Lincoln Alexander School of Law is the meaning of "we," notwithstanding difference. As the valedictorian of the law school, she looks forward to continuing to embody the values of the TMU and Lincoln Alexander community upon her entrance into the legal profession. Safia also served as the Founder and two-term Co-President for the Black Law Students' Association at Lincoln Alexander School of Law.

Accolades and awards

  • Inaugural Valedictorian for Lincoln Alexander School of Law
  • First recipient of the TMU Dennis Mock Award for the Faculty of Law
  • Andy and Valerie Pringle Law School Scholarship

What does it mean to be a Black TMU grad?

As the first person in my family to attend university and now law school, to me, being a Black grad means breaking generational curses, bridging educational gaps and creating a new narrative for my community.

What advice do you have for other Black students at TMU?

Be intentional with everything you do.
