Work Spaces

The Collaboratory is a dynamic and flexible working space, and the heart of scientific exploration and innovation within our community. Housed in the Center for Urban Innovation at TMU, we offer a range of specialized workspaces to cater to your diverse needs, each designed to foster collaboration, curiosity, and experimentation. Whether you're a researcher, student, or entrepreneur, this space is designed to accommodate you. We believe that inclusivity and diversity drive innovation.
- Open to All Members: All SDZ members have access to The Collaboratory, where diverse perspectives come together for groundbreaking results.
- Event Space: Our versatile space hosts in-house programs, workshops, and networking events, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing.
- Peer-to-Peer Interactions: The Collaboratory thrives on the exchange of ideas and fosters collaboration among our members.
- Safe Space for Curiosity and Exploration: It's a place where curiosity is nurtured, and exploration is encouraged, ensuring a supportive environment for all.

The chemistry laboratory has all the necessary equipment for preparation of samples and standards for various analyses of liquid and solid samples. The laboratory houses traditional equipment including glassware, and fume hoods.

Our fabrication lab is a creative space where ideas become reality. Whether you're prototyping a new device or exploring innovative solutions, this space offers the tools and resources you need to bring your solution forward.

For biological research, our BSL-1 lab offers a secure environment for various experiments, projects, and studies. Our labs come equipped with the essentials and have space for startups to house specialized equipment.

For more advanced biological research, our BSL-2 lab provides a higher level of containment and safety measures. This is the place for more intricate experiments and analyses.
