TORONTO, April 4, 2023The Legal Innovation Zone (LIZ) at Toronto Metropolitan University is organizing an in-person conference on AI, ChatGPT & Legal Services on May 15th in downtown Toronto. The increasing power of AI and ChatGPT are unleashing new thinking about legal service delivery. For those who are willing, how can you use them today, tomorrow, and in the days after to deliver the legal services that people, businesses, governments, and organizations need, when they need them, in the way that they need them, and at the price they are willing to pay?

John Weigelt (external link)  the National Technology Officer at Microsoft Canada (external link) , has been announced as the keynote speaker. He will provide insights into the world of ChatGPT and how they see the technology being used in the future. The conference also includes a range of other industry experts, including legal tech founders, legal professionals, and other thought leaders.

"Whether you are a convert or skeptic, want to change how you do a task inside your practice, or revolutionize service delivery, the discussion will have something for you," said Chris Bentley, Managing Director at the LIZ. "Too many lawyers have only asked 'can it [AI] do everything that we do?' No. That's not the need or the point. The question is: can a different approach deliver what legal consumers need, when they need it, in the way that they need it, at the price they will and can pay?"

The conference will help you see how others will use the developments in AI and ChatGPT. Attendees will hear about some of the benefits of these technologies, how they can be used to meet the needs of legal consumers, and some of their limitations.

"As the legal industry continues to evolve, it's important for professionals to stay informed and adapt to new technologies that can improve the delivery of legal services," said Hersh Perlis, Director of the LIZ. "This conference provides an opportunity for attendees to learn from industry experts and explore the potential of these innovative technologies. We look forward to hosting this important discussion and helping  you stay ahead of the curve."
