The Site of Heavenly Revolution is the concluding exhibition of Toko's 2022 Creative in Residence. This experimental glove series includes a dynamic sculpture which blends traditional craft and digital fabrication techniques with unconventional material explorations in glove-making.

About Toko

Toko Hosoya is a Japanese-Canadian artist based in Tkarónto/Toronto. She received her bachelor of design at OCAD University and her work has been displayed in galleries in Canada, the United States, Japan, and Poland. Trained in bronze-casting, intaglio printmaking, and drawing, Toko seeks to combine and present different crafts traditions in new ways. Her work typically involves natural materials and found materials such as bricks, paper, wood, grass and beeswax. Her current practice experiments with object and space-based approaches to storytelling, with the works becoming participants in their own stories. She’s interested in exploring language, archiving, and the artifacts of today.
