Wax On, Wax Off
Explore the world of SLA 3D printing for jewelry making through this hands-on workshop led by Krystyne Kontos at the Design Fabrication Zone! This introductory session will guide you through 3D modeling and SLA 3D printing workflows for creating jewelry ready for metal casting. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your 3D printing skills, this workshop offers valuable insights and practical experience.
What You'll Learn:
- The fundamentals of SLA 3D printing and its applications in jewelry design.
- Operating formlabs printers for standard resin and wax-castable resin
- Tips and tricks for achieving high-quality prints
- An introduction to 3D modeling and 3D printing resources
Together, we'll design and print small castable wax models, perfect for creating personalized metal charms for bracelets or necklaces. You'll leave with a tangible creation and the knowledge to take your projects from digital design to physical prototype.
🤝 Cost: Sliding scale payment starting at $10.00 or more, payable by cash or card at the door (recommended amount: $20.00).
Taking home your 3D prints: The castable wax 3D prints set up during the workshop session can be purchased for an additional flat rate fee of $15. Finished prints will need to be picked up by participants at a later date.
