About
Mission
To facilitate a culture of research equity that supports and empowers individuals to recognize and apply their research knowledge and skills to influence policy and practice changes across the healthcare system at the local, national and international levels.
Vision
To establish interdisciplinary and community partnerships that will generate research outputs, advocate for inclusive research designs, promote inclusive research environments, and facilitate the development of research outputs in accordance with the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA). Additionally, UHRN will lead and support critical strategic initiatives that are dedicated to the implementation of program, practice and policy changes.
Goals
To support the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing research community by providing a forum for members to seek advice, be exposed to new and innovative ways of thinking, seeking and receiving feedback, and building confidence and self-awareness related to the research process.
Encourage researchers to make their work openly available, fostering innovation — to serve as a repository for the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing research community to post their profiles, showcase their program of research, publications and other contributions to the scientific community which in turn enhances their visibility and professional reputation, and provides increased opportunities for career advancement.
Emphasize the transparent and accessible dissemination of research output by promoting the sharing of research findings, preprints, and data sets.
Encourage sustainable collaborations, locally, nationally and internationally with community partners and academic stakeholders.
Drive innovation and amplify the impact of scientific research — to create rich opportunities for cross pollination of ideas among individuals from different disciplines, with varied perspectives, backgrounds and expertise.
