Lisa Heyman
Lisa Heyman is Senior Manager, Global Legal Operations at Equinix (external link) leading transformation and change management. Lisa delivers impactful strategies that ensure the adoption and benefit realization of transformative initiatives within the legal department, ranging from technology implementations and process enhancements to organizational effectiveness.
Before joining Equinix, Lisa spent 8 years at the Bank of Montreal leading the global outside counsel program, where she focused on building strong relationships with law firms, driving efficiency and innovation, and promoting diversity in the legal profession. In her time at BMO, she led numerous initiatives to streamline operations, including designing many technology and process solutions.
Lisa’s portfolio also included managing BMO’s articling student secondment program, ensuring future lawyers benefitted from mentorship and the full breadth of experience that working for an in-house legal group offers. She was a Chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, which provided support and awareness of local charitable organizations, initiatives and volunteer opportunities and identified opportunities to promote the use of minority-owned businesses.
Prior to joining BMO in 2014, Lisa practiced as a litigator in Ireland.
Lisa is passionate about legal innovation and process improvement. In 2017, a risk-management project co-led by Lisa garnered a Canadian Lawyer In-House Innovation Award for BMO.
Lisa has been a guest contributor at TMU’s Legal Innovation Zone events focused on innovation.
