Get Involved
Develop skills and build your network by getting involved in the university community. Here are some places to start!
In Sociology & the Faculty of Arts:
- Join the Sociology Student Union
- Become a member of the Sociology Department Council
- The Faculty of Arts offers a wide range of experiential learning and extracurricular activities. You can get involved by:
- leading orientation for new students
- becoming an Arts Ambassador
- volunteering with the Society of Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities (SASSH (external link, opens in new window) )
In the University Community:
- The Students' Union is home to hundreds of student groups (external link) and affiliate groups (external link)
- Become a mentor or get mentoring with the Tri-Mentoring Program
- Work on campus (maybe as a Research Assistant)
- Get funding for projects highlighting Social Innovation and Activism
- The Social Venture Zone provides opportunities to work on building a social venture that creates real impact
- Connect with one of the Students' Union Equity Centres, (external link, opens in new window) including: the Student Access Collective, the BIPOC Students' Collective, the Queer Space, the Trans Collective and the Centre for Women & Trans People
