GRADVision

GRADVision Fundamentals is a professional development program running in Fall 2023, hosted online in partnership with the Graduate Leadership Institute (GLI) and the Office of Social Innovation (OSI).

GRADVision Fundamentals is a series of three virtual workshops providing an opportunity for graduate students across the university to work on the development of their vision as leaders working towards social transformation. Particpants will consider solutions of transformative change for social issues by first reflecting on and refining their own vision of leadership and social change.

Participants will receive values and vision training from GLI, which will support deeper understanding of their core values and leadership purpose that will be foundational in helping students develop their vision for positive societal change. At the end of the workshop series, participants will produce an online presentation of their learning which will be showcased through OSI.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

Understand their core values
Articulate their leadership purpose
Identify societal needs or challenges
Develop a vision for positive change
Apply vision implementation practices

Expectations

By taking part in this program, participants are expected to commit to:

Attend or watch the recordings of three values/vision workshops in October and November (approximately 1 hr per session)
Completing personal reflection exercises in-between workshops and being prepared to share insights
Develop a brief online presentation on their learnings from the program; the presentation would be showcased online through OSI and GLI

By fully completing the program, participants will earn a certificate of completion, a LinkedIn digital badge, and be eligible for Future Smart.
